{TUTORIAL} Adding Zipper Pocket

Hello,
The last two days was euphoria for me. It's the first time I got published in an online media and that too on Ecwid Blog! I was contacted by them by email early this month and was so excited about it. You can read my Behind the Scene Story in Ecwid Blog. I hope I can inspire more mothers who decided to left 9 to 5 job and pursue her dreams.

Now let's get down to the fun stuff. I got email from Patti, asking about how to add zipper pocket on the Phone Pouch. Thank you so much Patti!! Adding zipper pouch is very easy. If you already got the pattern  here is what you have to do. (if you haven't,  you can get it at the end of this post)

After you cut all your Exterior, Lining and Interfacing pieces as per pattern instructions, cut 2 extra lining pieces of Main Panel.

1. Fuse the interfacing on to the wrong side of the back exterior piece. Mark 1.5" down on one of the short end and cut.

Do the same with one of the lining piece.

2. Put the lining and exterior pieces…

Give me some sunshine

"Give me some sunshine Give me some rains Give me another chance  I wanna grow up once again" (Can't stop  humming this song from Amir Khan's 3 Idiots....)

This what I completed yesterday. I used a smaller size hexies (1") and did the simple butterfly embroidery there. This one is so cheerful with lime green and yellow combination. Inside I put white cotton with pastel color polkadots. yeah..It's yummy pouch..:D (detail pictures are in my FLICKR)
I still wanna do few more small patchwork/hexies project but I got some packing to do....wohoooo...I'm going to my home country for holiday...Yay!!..
OK, time to do a serious packing now...I hope I made enough for my friends back home...^^
have a great crafty weekends everyone...

My first Hexies

It's just a quick update. These last few days I've been sort of 'addicted' to making hexagons. I spent a loong time browsing & blogwalking and admiring all the lovelies hexies on the net. Finally I found one this this tutorial by GOLDILOKS.See, I did the 'tacking' at each corner of the folds and it saves me sometime to do the thread cutting..:D.

So far here's what I have made...I don't know yet what to make out of these...LOL. But I'm glad I didn't throw away all those fabric scraps.

and here's my first hexies pouch. I'm so in love with nanikist in flickr, how she combined the polkadots and she  inspired me to make this pouch. I put side pocket inside to keep the cards and cash. The pouch is padded with thin pellon and the lining is interfaced for sturdiness.

I'm going to make few more little hexies and hopefully can finish few stuff before I go for holiday ^_^

Thanks for stopping by & Have a nice carfty days
